Welcome ! Last year I’ve tried to create my website without using a ready build portal or blog solution.
I tested a few OpenSource Content Management Systems, like Serendipty, WordPress and Joomla.
But I wanted full control, and mostly I wanted to learn php. Creating all from scratch 
. I planned to use an editor like fckeditor or tinymce.
My daily job decided otherwise, because it consumed a lot of my free time and it still does 
, so I gave up. Well, I’ve recently discoverd the framework codeigniter. NO ! Stop ! No time ! So I’ll limit myself to just writing down a few thoughts from time to time.
I’ve decided to use WordPress, mostly because Matt Cutts also uses it. I’m a huge fan of Firefox with the great collection of plug-ins like the Web Developer or the Firebug plug-in and some more. More next time.
Why did I start this blog ?
Last year I’ve searched the web for answers about Search Engine Optimization (also other issues, but mainly SEO). For quite a few questions it was hard to find an answer. Like what about multi-country websites on one server ? Is the domain extension EU an option ? Or do you have to go for country (BE, FR, LU, …) extensions ? What about multi-lingual content ? How do you optimize your website ?
My goal is to share some of my findings, and after I’ve covered the basics also touch some of the more specific subjects for multi-national websites.
